DJ Elvis started getting into the DJ culture back in the early 90's Influenced by an old friend that had hundreds of reggae 45's that he would pick up on trips to Kingston, Jamaica. Eventually Elvis got his own turntables and started collecting records of his own and practicing mixing them up in his bedroom.
Then he took his music out to some bars in Santa Cruz when he lived there. He then moved back to LA and started Deejaying various bars and clubs. He got a job in Hong Kong and was there for 7 months and became the only DJ spinning reggae music in Central HK at a club called Chapter 11 then became a resident DJ at the famous Yumla club in Hong Kong.
Upon moving back to the states, he took up the DJ name "Mao Won (Elvis in Cantonese) and had residency DJ status in Long Beach at The Red Room, Cheapshots and The Pike Bar. Now at Tripnotic - spreading the joy of music at The Room SM.
